1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Cognora (“the Platform”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform.
2. Description of Service
Cognora provides multi-dimensional cognitive assessments, personalized growth plans, activity tracking, and progress reporting for children aged 5–14. The Platform is designed for use by parents and guardians to support their children's cognitive development.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to create a parent/guardian account.
- You must be the parent or legal guardian of any child whose profile you create on the Platform.
- Child profiles are intended for children aged 5–14. The Platform will not create assessments for children outside this range.
4. Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You agree to provide accurate information when registering and creating child profiles.
- You must verify your email address to use the Platform.
5. Assessments and Scores
- Cognora assessments are educational tools designed to identify cognitive strengths and growth areas. They are not diagnostic instruments and should not replace professional psychological evaluation.
- Scores and classifications (Developing, Emerging, Strong, Exceptional) are relative measures of current performance, not fixed labels.
- A 30-day window is enforced between retests to ensure meaningful growth measurement.
6. Subscription and Payments
- The Platform offers a free tier with limited features and paid subscription plans (Monthly and Yearly).
- Payments are processed securely through Paystack. By subscribing, you agree to Paystack's terms of service.
- Subscription prices are displayed in Nigerian Naira (NGN) and are inclusive of all applicable charges.
- We reserve the right to modify pricing with 30 days' notice to active subscribers.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Create accounts for children who are not under your legal guardianship.
- Attempt to manipulate assessment results or circumvent the retest window.
- Use the Platform for any commercial purpose other than personal family use.
- Attempt to access other users' data or the admin panel without authorization.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or automated-access the Platform's APIs beyond normal use.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Platform — including assessment questions, activity templates, scoring algorithms, and growth plan recommendations — is the intellectual property of Cognora and may not be reproduced or distributed without written permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
Cognora is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for:
- Decisions made based on assessment results or growth plan recommendations.
- Service interruptions or data loss beyond our control.
- Actions taken by third-party services (Paystack, Google, Resend).
10. Account Termination
- You may delete your account at any time by contacting support@cognora.app.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
- Upon account deletion, all data (including child profiles and assessment history) will be permanently removed within 30 days.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Any disputes will be resolved through the appropriate courts in Nigeria.
12. Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance. Material changes will be communicated via email.
